Arjan Stigter

Arjan Stigter has been the CEO of Ultimoo, one of the two largest credit management and debt collection agencies in the Netherlands, since February 1, 2009. He has worked in the credit management and debt collection industry since 1989, giving him a comprehensive understanding of the profession from all sides: at the operational level, as a credit manager on the client's side, and as an executive.

His career began at Dun & Bradstreet, where he worked as a collector and later as a credit advisor. He then became a credit manager at the chemical company ICI. As an interim (credit) manager, he subsequently worked for various organizations, including DHL, Santander, Douwe Egberts, and Eneco. In these roles, he saw how companies structure their debtor management and where it runs into problems in practice. He brought that experience to Ultimoo, where he was first Managing Director and now, as CEO, determines the company's strategy and course.

Arjan is known as an outspoken voice in the industry. He advocates for a debt collection market that takes a critical look at itself, chooses quality over the lowest price, and treats people in debt with care. His vision on the debt collection market, developments in credit management, and the consequences of legislation such as the Debt Collection Services Quality Act (Wet kwaliteit incassodienstverlening) have been featured in De Telegraaf, at Credit Expo, the NVI, and Aryza, among others.
